Introduction
The National Institute of Fashion Technology is one of the renowned platforms for fashion courses. It was established in 1986 under the Ministry of textiles, the Government of India. It has campuses spread across the country, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gandhi nagar, Kolkata etc. In 2006, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was declared a statutory institute by an Act of the Indian Parliament, empowering it to grant its own degrees. Additionally, it is globally recognized for its uniqueness in design, management, and technology. NIFT offers undergraduate (B. Des, B.F. Tech) and postgraduate (M. Des, M.F. Tech, M. Entrance Exam
The NIFT Entrance Exam consists of:
- GAT (General Ability Test) – MCQs on Quantitative, English, Analytical Ability, and GK
- CAT (Creative Ability Test) – Drawing and creativity-based questions
- Situation Test (For B. Des) – Model making and problem-solving skills
- GD/PI (For PG courses) – Group Discussion & Personal Interview
