  1. Read UPSC syllabus

 UPSC has a detailed syllabus. Read it in detail to understand the need and wants of the government to achieve the task assigned.Note of a syllabus will teach you how to learn what to learn and unlearn the concepts before.

  1. Read NCERT books from grade 6 to 12

The textbooks issued by NCERT are the standard books for UPSC preparation meeting the standards. Everyday read 2 to 4 hours of your textbook to get the concepts well .

  1. Note making

Have a practice of drafting notes by reading the books which helps to revise for the test prior. The subjectual notes may help you to draft detailed answers in terms of mains preparation.

  1. Read NEWS Paper

The HINDU editorials help to write the mains in detail so have a habit of reading newspapers daily with taking notes on that particular concept, refer to your previous reading and add points which highlights major issues.

Joining only for tests in an institute  could help in practising regularly for exams. Mock tests will remind us of points and increase our score and self assessment.Write general studies regularly.
